Developer & Code

For developers, comparing two lists is usually a line in a script or a query, not a paste into a browser tool: a SQL IN clause built from a list of IDs, Python's set operations or pandas' drop_duplicates, a JavaScript array difference, or a PowerShell array cleanup. This cluster is the code-first reference for the same five operations covered everywhere else on the site — difference, intersection, union, symmetric difference, and deduplication — written out as working snippets in the language you're actually using, with the tradeoffs specific to each (Python set order isn't guaranteed, pandas' drop_duplicates keeps the first occurrence by default, naive SQL IN clauses don't scale past a few thousand values). If you'd rather get the same results as JSON without writing the logic yourself, DiffLists also has a free, unauthenticated public API that returns exactly these five result sets for two pasted lists — useful for scripting a one-off comparison or wiring list comparison into another tool without reimplementing the set logic.
